The Katy Collegians are a 501-c-3, non-profit (REALLY! non-profit) organization. The team is soliciting/asking (pretty please!) for assistance in funding our trip to the 2011 National Baseball Congress World Series. The daily cost to travel, house, and feed a college level club in Wichita is substantial. Even with the discounts and help of the Wichita Chamber of Commerce, the Wichita Area Merchants and the NBC, the trip, while not astronomical, comes with a pretty good price tag (example: hotel rooms are at minimum $80-$90 a day - we usually occupy a minimum of 10 rooms). Each player and coach is responsible for funding a (great) part of the trip. Each year we have been a little short of achieving our goal. This year, we want to reach that goal. We shoot for $15,000.

Quite naturally, we feel the fund-raising is well worth the effort and if you are a baseball fan, especially fans who have watched us play, you will recognize the passion that our young players have for our sport and the way they have represented our area this summer. We have earned respect from our opponents and the hotel owners/operators in Seguin, San Antonio, and Austin (where we have played and stayed this summer). Bottomline, our players are true sportsmen and outstanding ambassadors of and for Katy and Texas.
